This Cookie Policy explains how Quest ("we," "us," "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites, including questapp.ai. This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device. They let the site remember things about your visit — like that you're logged in, or that you've already seen a particular banner. Similar technologies (like local storage, pixels, and SDKs) work the same way and are covered by this Policy.
First-party cookies are set by Quest. Third-party cookies are set by services we use, like analytics or advertising platforms. Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (stored for a set time, then deleted).
2. Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies for four reasons:
Strictly necessary
These keep the site running. They handle things like authentication, security, load balancing, and remembering items you've interacted with during a session. The site doesn't work without them. We do not need consent for these.
Functional
These remember your preferences and choices, so the site feels personalized — for example, your language, region, or whether you've dismissed a particular notice.
Analytics
These help us understand how people use the site: which pages they visit, where they drop off, whether features are working. We use this to improve Quest. Where required, we anonymize or aggregate this data.
Advertising and measurement
These help us measure whether our marketing is working and, in some cases, show you more relevant ads on other platforms. They include third-party pixels and click identifiers (for example, from Google Ads or Meta).
3. Cookies We Use
The specific cookies in use change over time. Below are the main categories with examples.
First-party Quest cookies
- Authentication / session: keep you signed in to your account.
- Onboarding state: remember which step of the quiz you reached if you refresh the page.
- UI preferences: for example, dismissing a notice or banner.
Third-party cookies and pixels
- Google Analytics / Google Ads: measure site traffic and advertising performance. Includes click identifiers (gclid).
- Meta Pixel: measure the performance of ads we run on Facebook and Instagram. Includes click identifiers (fbclid, fbc, fbp).
- Stripe: fraud prevention and payment processing on checkout pages.
- TikTok Pixel: measure the performance of ads we run on TikTok, where applicable.
4. Your Choices
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Check your browser's help pages for instructions. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the site.
- Mobile device settings. On iOS and Android, you can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device's privacy settings.
- Opt-out tools. You can opt out of certain advertising cookies through industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (youronlinechoices.eu).
- Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no industry consensus on what to do with this signal, and we do not currently respond to it.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
